Hello to all! Everything is going very well in New York, and it has been a great day. We started today much like yesterday, with a train ride into Manhattan and a concert at 11:00; except today we actually did the concert!!! We had a great group at Terence Cardinal Cooke Healthcare center and out concert was probably the best to date. You would have been really proud of the kids. I was.

After a brief train ride, we surface at Times Square for lunch. It was our first visit there, and it certainly lived up to the hype! After lunch and another train ride, we did an afternoon concert at Carnegie East House. It was a good concert and the residents really enjoyed the kids. We moved to the subway again and at this point, rush hour was beginning. But, the stalwart travelers made their way to Coney Island, even though the group got separated and split in the crowd, ending up in two different trains. However, our plan worked just as we designed it and we all made it there safely.

For most of us, the highlight of Coney Island was Nathan’s Hot Dogs. This world famous eatery certainly lived up to its venerable reputation! Otherwise, Coney Island seemed to be a little on the shabby side, and not what it was in its heyday. However, school is not out here yet, and the weather has been unseasonably cool, even a little cold; especially as the wind was coming off the ocean there at the beach. So, it didn’t take us too long to look at the sights, so we headed back to Queens a little early to get everyone settled for the night.

Moving around this city is a tiresome venture. Most of us are not accustomed to this much walking, although I can certainly say for myself that I do need it, indeed! Nevertheless, we are a little weary tonight and the extra sleep in the morning will be good for us all. Keep us in your prayers. I say “keep” because we can feel them. We love you all. You can be proud of the influence we are having here. God is good.

Blessings,
