One hundred and seventy-seven years ago, a group of believers were led to plant First Baptist Church Tyler. In 1913, our beautiful sanctuary was built on this property. Since then, generations of believers have prayed, worshipped, ministered, and gone to the ends of the earth with the gospel of Christ.
The time is now to undertake a project that will carry this vital mission within our community and for the Kingdom of God. Together, may we witness the Lord accomplish this great work for the sake of generations to come!

For 177 years, God has faithfully used First Baptist Church Tyler to Live, Teach, and Tell the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 1913, our historic Sanctuary has stood as a place where generations have gathered to worship, pray, and experience the power of God’s Word. The Lord has blessed us with a rich legacy of faith, and now we have the exciting opportunity to build on that foundation for the future.
Why Now?
God is moving across every generation in our church. Our ministries are thriving, new families are connecting, and each year thousands come through our Recreation Center. We are welcoming more neighbors to our campus through ministry and community partnerships. Also, Downtown Tyler is growing with new housing, a new courthouse, and revitalized streets. Rooted in the heart of this growth, we are perfectly placed to engage our community with grace and truth.
What is our ultimate goal?
We seek to honor God’s faithfulness with a campus that invites people to encounter Jesus, deepen their faith, and join His mission. From generation to generation, we continue the story God began long ago, standing firm in the faith, building for the future, and making disciples of all nations.

With faith and vision, our $16 million goal stands as an investment in the future God is calling us toward. As past generations sacrificed and built spaces where we now worship and grow, we have the privilege and responsibility to unite and build for those who will come after us.
